DEVELOPMENTS

So it has been a WHILE since i last posted, but as it stands I am doing my FMP in conjunction with the Roald Dahl Museum.

Last week i gave a presentation of my work/ideas so far, which didn't go off too well, but I am now working on new ideas and solutions.

I spoke to the museum curator about the stamping machine, (original idea,) which I did really think was a bit too little work for me, since it was just revamping an original design. She said I could do the stamping machine after college AND my project if I wanted to.

My new idea, after presenting last thursday is something for the courtyard of the museum.

I was in Amsterdam last week and while I was there I saw people playing those oversized chess sets, which gave me an idea of some sort of outdoor game that involved Roald Dahl characters. I'm not sure about the ins and outs yet, but I wanted to know what people thought, before I embarrassed myself again by re-presenting my work. (which I am happy to do.)

Another idea was some sort of landmark for the museum, since they don't really have one and it doesn't really stand out as an attraction or museum. I was thinking of something like a 16 foot BFG (Big Friendly Giant) or some other character from his books... but that would need planning permission and one HELL of a model maker.

What do people think?

Like what we had a chat about I think you could adapt snakes and ladders to Roal Dahl - difficult to spell! And then people could walk round it as the counters! Oversized dice would be cool too plus you wouldn't necessarily know what's coming cause it could be huge especially for kids. A ladder could be Mr Twit's beard full of gross stuff or you could get a lift with the BFG or even fall though a hole in the giant peach! Endless possibilities! Hope I helped
